888 DO UNTO OTHERS
Scott Theno is a “Jack of all trades.” In addition to being the Executive Director for The Keepers of the Mitten Incorporated, Scott owns and operates two other entities that work in conjunction with The Keepers of the Mitten to fulfill its mission.
The first is his construction contracting company, Theno Development. After working in construction for 20 years, Scott set up his own contracting company, subcontracted contracts with general contractors, and fulfilled construction bids himself. He has extensive knowledge in home construction and is a Master Mason. These skills made him uniquely qualified to handle the construction-related outreach programs as Executive Director. He donates his time and talents to help those in need, and a portion of all his outside construction profits goes to The Keepers of the Mitten.
His second venture is his art, music, and media company 121V4 Creations. Along with construction, Scott is a professional artist and musician. Contractor by day and musician by night, Scott was a founding member of the local Green Bay band “Band Kamp” and bassist/vocalist for the national act “ANNEX.” Both groups were highly successful, playing nationally in clubs and opening for national acts: The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Sevendust, Nonpoint, Mushroom Head, Cherry Monroe, and Buck Cherry, to name a few. He hung up his guitar in 2008 but continues to write music and record.
Along with his music skills, Scott is also an outstanding artist. He uses his skills to reproduce photo-quality graphite drawings of black and white images and colorful, vibrant children’s book illustrations. Scott also donates a portion of all profits from 121V4 Creations to The Keepers of the Mitten.
Before becoming the Executive Director of The Keepers of the Mitten, Scott was the Executive Director of the Non-Profit Christians Healing Addictions Non-Profit Community Employment (C.H.A.N.C.E.) program. After years of struggling with his substance abuse issues, Scott headed the C.H.A.N.C.E. program that ran a homeless shelter for men and women newly released from custody or on supervision who had the immense challenges of reintegrating into society, substance abuse, employment, and homelessness. This program housed those individuals in a sober, caring environment and provided recovery programs and employment.
Father, Friend, Christian
Scott is the father of two brilliant, talented young ladies, Trinity and Ella. Outside of his complete and busy schedule, Scott spends time with his daughters, enjoying swimming, bonfires, ice skating, the outdoors, and passing on family values and traditions.
Scott has a strong Christian faith and feels that God has blessed him with his skills, knowledge, and experience so that he can best serve others. He personally aims to live the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” The Keepers of the Mitten organization aligns with his faith and life priorities.
